Ulrich Fuchs – musician, teacher, member of the trade: Born in Memmingen, Germany in 1961, I began to play piano at the age of six. I changed to the cello at the age of ten. After receiving my secondary school degree, I studied cello with professors Walter Nothas, Helmar Stiehler and Fritz Kiskalt at the Munich Musikhochschule, where I completed my artistic diploma with distinction. Thereafter I attended master courses taught by Maurice Gendron and Heinrich Schiff.

Since then I have worked as a freelance musician and cello teacher for talented young and older students. In 2001 I started my own business, “Ulrich Fuchs Stringed Instruments” in Baierbrunn, near Munich, trading in high quality cellos, violins and violas from famous European violin-making schools.
